About us
A Graz painting business that cleans up after itself
Petra Novak started in 2014 with a second-hand van and two journeymen. Today we are nine people and work from the Geidorf district out to Seiersberg, Gratwein and Hart bei Graz.
Most of our jobs come through word of mouth: property managers who call us for stairwells, and families who have the living room done after the first child's room. That has less to do with the paint than with the small things: we cover floors with fleece instead of plastic sheeting, tape off sockets, move furniture ourselves and vacuum at the end.
At the site visit we measure, check the surface and tell you honestly whether a fresh coat is enough or whether filling and sanding comes first. Then you get a written price that holds.
- Master painter's business since 2014
- Free site visit in and around Graz
- Written fixed price before we start

What customers say about our work
„Two days, three rooms, hallway and kitchen. By the evening everything was put back and vacuumed. I didn't find a single paint splash on the parquet.“
Andrea Pucher3-room flat painted, 2025Review on Google „We've had Novak do our stairwells for years. Tenants are informed beforehand, flat doors are taped off and the schedule holds.“
Hausverwaltung KoberStairwell, 2024Review on Google „At the site visit Ms Novak told us straight away that two cracks needed repairing first. That's exactly what the quote said. The invoice matched it to the euro.“
Martin StrohmeierDetached house façade, 2025Review on Google „The mould behind the wardrobe is gone and hasn't come back since winter. The date had to be moved once because a façade had to be finished first.“
Lejla HodžićBedroom mould removal, 2025Review on Google „Seven old panelled doors and the wooden banister in the house. Sanded properly, no drips in the lacquer. Looks new but keeps the old character.“
Gregor WeinhandlDoors and railing lacquered, 2026Review on Google „Quick reply, site visit two days later, and the paint barely smelled the next day. Our daughter could sleep in her room again right away.“

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Question not answered here? Give us a call, we are happy to advise.
Do we have to clear out the furniture first?
No. Just put away small items, pictures and curtains. We move wardrobes and sofas to the middle of the room and cover them. Heavy built-ins stay where they are and we paint behind them as far as we can.
How long does it take to paint a flat?
Two people can do a 70 m² flat in two to three days if the walls are in good condition. If there are lots of cracks to fill or you go from a dark to a light colour, allow one extra day.
Will the flat smell of paint for days?
Hardly. Indoors we use solvent-free, low-emission emulsion or silicate paints. After a day of airing you can use the rooms normally, children's rooms included. Only solvent-based lacquers smell longer, and there are water-based alternatives for those.
Will the mould come back after painting?
Painting over it never works on its own. We remove the mould, treat the surface and use lime or silicate paint, which buffers moisture. At the site visit we measure the wall moisture. If it comes from outside or from the masonry, we tell you who you need for that.
When is the best time to paint a façade?
From April to October, at 8 °C or more and without long spells of rain. Our May to July dates are usually booked by the end of February. If you want it done in summer, get in touch in winter.
Is there a charge for the site visit?
Not in Graz and the surrounding district. Further out, for example in western Styria, we charge a travel fee, which we deduct again if you place the order.
